Pat Conway is a licensed clinical psychologist who works with children, adolescents, and adults. She has been in private practice in Wellesley since 1996, and has worked at a trauma clinic in the area since 1994.
Prior to enrolling in a doctoral program in Psychology, she worked for 13 years as an Oncology Nurse in a variety of roles (staff nurse, clinical specialist/staff development instructor, and nurse manager). Throughout the four years of her doctoral program, she was employed as a VNA/Hospice nurse.
Pat uses a mind-body perspective with an underlying philosophy that recognizes the importance of integrating the physical, psychological (thoughts, feelings, behaviors), and spiritual dimensions of the self.
Her theoretical framework is attachment-based, and she incorporates aspects of psychodynamic, trauma-informed, family systems, and play and expressive arts therapies as appropriate. She is accompanied by her therapy dog, Samsara (Sammie), who interacts with clients at their discretion.
A good fit is an essential part of doing meaningful psychotherapy. With that in mind, please feel free to contact Pat to make an appointment.
If it feels like a good fit when you meet her, you will proceed from there. If it does not feel right to you (and/or if you cannot find an agreeable appointment time), she has a list of excellent therapists to whom she feels comfortable making referrals.
